No. Clear printed pages are normally processed with a standard OCR engine and checked by sample review. AI-assisted processing, which may include generative models, is added for harder material such as difficult layouts, faint or complex pages or handwriting, together with additional human review, depending on the agreed scope. Standard OCR engines can also use machine learning; the difference is the extra processing and review applied to harder pages, not whether “AI” is involved.

Document indexing organises agreed metadata, such as document types, dates and reference numbers, so files can be filtered and found. Classification and key-field extraction are ways to create that metadata. An AI search index is different: it lets people search the collection in natural language, and conversational search goes further by generating answers from the documents it retrieves. AI indexing, conversational search and their hosting are a separately quoted service, not included in OCR, classification or field extraction. Generated answers should be checked against the source documents.

No. The indicative basic OCR rate of A$0.05 per page applies to clear printed documents with sample review and is confirmed after we assess your samples. AI indexing, conversational search, hosting and ongoing updates are scoped and quoted separately.

We scan common document types including A4/A3 paper, legal files, medical records, invoices and receipts. Bound books, larger-than-A3 material, fragile or damaged documents need assessment of condition and handling, with a separate quote where required.

Your one-off scanning project delivers a portable digital archive in the agreed format, whether or not you choose a separate portal service. Discuss the delivery destination and storage requirements before project acceptance. Optional portal requirements, delivery scope and any ongoing charges are agreed separately.

Bound preparation adds A$0.20 per physical sheet in total, including staple removal and unbinding/reassembly. A3 adds A$0.04–0.08 per scanned side. The final supplement is confirmed after sample assessment. OCR starts at an additional A$0.05 per page for clear print with sample review. Faint print or complex tables/forms add A$0.05–0.10, or handwriting with detailed human review adds A$0.20–0.35. Mixed English/Thai adds A$0.03–0.05. Difficulty tiers are alternatives; the language addition can combine with either. Other language requirements need assessment. Full proofreading is an optional additional A$1.00–1.50 per page. There is no strict minimum. Final scope and price are agreed after sample review. A free sample of up to 500 scanned page sides lets you review the output. Collection and return delivery are excluded. The sample is not an automatic discount on a larger project.

Yes. We offer custom integration as a separately scoped development project, outside the standard scanning price. We assess your target workflow and system requirements before agreeing the connection. When field extraction is selected, CSV, JSON or Excel output can also be agreed for your own import.

Start with a general description of the records and your confidentiality, access and contractual requirements. Please do not send confidential contents or samples until processing and handling arrangements have been discussed and the project is accepted.

Tell us how you need the originals returned and raise any retention or disposal requirements during scoping. Handover and return arrangements need to be discussed before we accept the project; scanning alone is not an instruction to destroy originals.

Yes, our OCR supports Thai script and English alphanumeric text. Check representative pages and important values against the originals, especially where scripts are mixed or the source is difficult to read.
